Error message "Mobile tariffs from this provider cannot be added"
If you receive this error message, your device may have a SIM lock. It is easy to check for this:
iOS: Open the Settings application on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap “General.” Tap “Info.” Scroll down until you see the “Carrier Lock” or “SIM Lock” section.
Android: Go to “Settings.” Tap “About phone” or “About device.” Select “Status” or “Network.” Look for an option such as “SIM status” or “Network” and check for information about a SIM lock.
You may see one of the following options here:
- No SIM lock: This means your phone is unlocked and can be used with eSIMs from different carriers.
- SIM Lock: This means your phone is locked and can only be used with specific eSIMs. If you receive an error message such as “Invalid SIM” or “SIM not supported,” your phone is most likely SIM locked.
Removing a SIM lock usually requires contacting your carrier, service provider, company, or manufacturer. Once all requirements have been met, you will receive an unlock code that you must enter to unlock your device.
