Installing and activating your eSIM
- Install your eSIM before your trip.
- Activate your international plan during the flight or when you arrive at your destination.

After purchasing your eSIM plan, open the settings on your iPhone and follow the instructions:
- Scan the QR code from your eSIMony activation email or alternatively enter the activation code manually.
- Give your new eSIM tariff a name so that you can identify it at any time, e.g., “eSIMony USA.”
- In your mobile phone settings (for calls and text messages), check the “Primary” box so you can continue to use your phone number in parallel.
- In your iMessage, FaceTime and Apple ID settings, check the “Primary” box so you can continue using the services with your default phone number.
- In your “Mobile data” settings, check the “eSIMony” box and leave the slider “Allow mobile data switching” turned off to avoid additional roaming charges.
On the plane or after arrival (activation)
You must be at your destination or on the plane on the way there before you go through the activation process:
- Go to your iPhone’s settings, select “Mobile,” and choose your eSIMony plan.
- Activate data roaming on your phone.
- Take a look at the top bar of your display. If at least one bar is displayed there, your eSIMony tariff is activated.
- Call up any website to test the connection.

After purchasing your eSIM plan, open the settings on your Android smartphone and follow the instructions:
- Check that you have a stable internet connection (e.g., on a Wi-Fi network or with a mobile data connection).
- Call up the SIM card manager in the “Connections” menu.
- In the eSIM options, select “Add eSIM,” scan the QR code from your activation email, and wait a few seconds until your eSIM profile is visible.
- Select “Add” and give your new eSIM plan a name so that you can identify it at any time, e.g., “eSIMony USA.”
On the plane or after arrival (activation)
You must be at your destination or on the plane on the way there before you go through the activation process:
- Go to “Connections” in the settings of your Android smartphone.
- Select “SIM Manager” and activate your eSIMony tariff by moving the slider to the right.
- Now select “Mobile data” and check the “eSIMony” box.
- Go back to “Connections,” select “Mobile networks,” and activate data roaming there.
- Go back to “Connections,” select “Data usage,” and move the slider for mobile data in the “eSIMony” menu item to the right to activate it.
- Take a look at the top bar of your display. If at least one bar is displayed there, your eSIMony tariff is activated.
- Call up any website to test the connection.
